You gotta understand that some people never really grow. They never learn their lesson. They never recognise their mistakes, they never acknowledge their faults, they never admit they were in the wrong. You will never receive an apology from them, and you will never see their behaviour change.
The thing that scares me about Rocky Horror is how they took almost every trans misogynistic trope possible, rolled them into a single character that then rapes two people and grooms another to be a sex slave; and somehow this has become a huge piece of our culture, applauded, and almost never spoken out against. Society loves the idea of a violent, manipulative trans woman rapist that’s out to taint cishetero ways of life, and the love for Rocky Horror proves it.
And, when we do speak against it we’re ridiculed with more personalized transphobia, all because it had some songs people liked.
Imagine being divorced enough from Queer culture and Queer history to consider this a valid fucking take.
Imagine having such disregard for trans women enough to argue that just because something is a part of history, it was a good thing. Imagine thinking that lgbt+/queer communities, have never made a single mistake or treated trans women poorly. Imagine being so sure of all these things that you’ll talk over a trans woman’s critiques of specific things that RHPS did not with rebuttals of those points, but with a simple “queer culture / queer history” as if that trumps those critiques in and of itself. Imagine ignoring that the creator of RHPS has directly said “trans women are not women”, thus reinforcing these critiques. Imagine…oh, wait, we don’t have to imagine it. We’ve got this chucklefuck right here doing it.
You know I’ve absolutely come to revile anytime someone pulls this trick. This, “History” as an argument in and of itself. Because we’re on a site with a very high userbase in the 18-25 zone. People just poking their heads out from the other side of the deafening genocidal effort of the AIDS crisis, which isn’t even really gone yet but shifting and slipping between the cracks into the lesser paid attention to parts of the country and the world. Young people who are divorced from their history because their history got murdered. I’m sick of every last person holding up “you can’t say this was bad because it was a part of history”, Tumblr has become a place where “ahistorical” has a meaning and a bite all its own, used to silence people without any support or further discussion, but just to frighten young people with the ghosts of their own lost history into shutting up and not ruffling the feathers of people who, for example, never gave a shit about trans women.
Transmisogyny has been a festering rot in many communities for a very long time now, so when I see someone like you saying that RHPS is a part of as you put it “Queer History” all I can say is…no shit. And it’s been a problem the whole damn time.
Right now we are facing a presidential administration that is prepping to try and throw down against the very right of trans people to even exist so I have precisely zero time for worthless pretending that transmisogyny is a-okay just because other have done it before, and done it in the past.

It’s pretty fucking clear that the creator has no sympathy for trans women since he empathizes with a known and very outspoken terf, who has admitted to being a pedophile (even wrote a fucking book about being horny for pre-pubescent boys). While openly stating that trans women aren’t women, and making money/fame off of a blatantly transmisogynist character. As a trans woman I am deeply disturbed by the support RHPS gets from basically anyone that isn’t a trans woman. It seriously reminds me of the undying support that Rupaul gets from the lgb community despite being, yet again, a blatant transmisogynist. I’d be genuinely surprised if trans women’s voices were actually heard and validated by the community about problematic people and representations, but hey dismissing women’s concerns is a hallmark of the patriarchal society that we live in. I get that drag queens and trans representation in media can help trans people to understand and come out to themselves, but it’s hard to feel like you will be loved and accepted when you have to butt heads with the social figures that tell you that you’re a gross facade of womanhood, a degenerate sexual preditor, and/or an empty sex toy for anyone to mess around with.
So yeah, maybe the post didn’t need my opinion, but here it is.

i regularly wear men’s teeshirts and sweatshirts and jackets because they’re more comfortable and usually last longer than the women’s equivalent. literally nobody stops me. nobody cares. nobody even notices. and i have the time of my life not constantly getting mad about willingly wearing clothes i don’t want to wear.

I use old spice deodorant because the scents don’t make me sick like womens deodorants, it lasts longer, is cheaper, and works better. Also dude things are better. My mom makes fun of me and tells everyone (idk why), but who cares. I like it better and most of the time the people my mom tells start using dude products too.

There were 45 dogs. Dogs who were trapped in a narrow gauge since birth and were unable to go for a walk. His family wanted “to dispose” the dogs. I asked the owner of the dog to have “disposal” put on hold.
I love dogs and own a dog. So, I want to help dogs. I began looking for a dog’s foster parent. Desperately seeking even now.
But, there are many sick dogs. A lot of dog food is also necessary. I started using my money to take care of a dog, but it is quite a difficult situation. I need pretty much money now.
I would be happy if you can support the money to help the dogs.
